On Malaysia's Policies toward the United States in the Post- Cold War Era

The relationship between Malaysia and the United States has once been very tensed in the Post-Cold War era.The reason why Malaysia adopted hard policies toward the United States are as follows: the transformation of international political pattern,the change of American policy toward Southeast Asia,and the serious political and economic security danger that Malaysia encountered after the financial crisis.However,as a result of the diplomatic wisdom,the economic relationship between the two countries has developed continuously and the United States has become the largest export market and source of foreign capital of Malaysia.Malaysia's policy have protected effectively the political and economic interests of Malaysia,and thus promoted its international position,which revealed the diplomatic wisdom of a small country.
