Succor, Revolution, Diplomacy: A Study of Union of Chinese Laborers in Russia

Union of Chinese Laborers in Russia was established in 1917 by Chinese students studying in Russia with the former name of Union of Chinese Travelers in Russia.Since its establishment,the Union helped Chinese workers in Russia during the First World War period in many aspects.By the end of 1918,the Union changed into an organization of proletariats,which propagandized revolutionary ideas actively among the Chinese workers in Russia and set up connection with revolutionary organizations in China,thus promoted the development of(China's) revolutionary cause.In addition,the Union also played an important role in the diplomatic activities of Russia and China by initiating talks between the Chinese government and the Soviet Russia.On the basis of a large number of historical data,the paper studied the Union by reviewing the remarkable history of Union of Chinese Laborers in such aspects as rescue,revolution and diplomacy.
