Manufacture in pre-industrial England: a bibliography

A thematic and regional bibliography of manufacture in pre-industrial England. (1500–1700) is prefaced by a brief discussion of the nature of the literature and its implications for the contribution of historical geographers. The necessity of questioning basic assumptions and preconceptions from the standpoint of historical geography is stressed, together with the need for a truly geographical approach to description and explanation.
